FAMILY PROGRAMS

Family Engagement Makes a Difference

At Charlotte Bilingual Preschool, we view families as their children’s first teachers. Research indicates that one of the most significant factors in children’s early educational success is introduction to books at home. By age 2, children who are read to regularly already display larger vocabularies and higher cognitive skills than their peers! An engaged family can support and sustain their children’s education at home and ensure that they’re successful long-term.

Programs for
our families

Our Family Programs empower families with the confidence, connections, and knowledge to support their child’s education long-term. Our families build community, learn parenting strategies, and gain leadership opportunities through volunteering, participating in our Family Cafés, and workshops based on their interests and needs. We also offer employment opportunities for families, including training as substitute teachers in the Preschool Program.

Free ESL

Through CPCC

We offer free online English as a Second Language (ESL) courses for the families of our Preschool Program students in partnership with Central Piedmont Community College. Members of our staff and their relatives, as well as families from our Creciendo Juntos and other family programs, can also benefit from our virtual ESL courses. We offer six levels that are conducted three times per week.
