Reporting to the Research and Evaluation Director, the Research and Evaluation Associate supports collection, analysis, and summary of student and family data at Charlotte Bilingual Preschool. The Research and Evaluation Associate supports the design and implementation of qualitative and quantitative evaluation, manages projects, and develops well-written reports that provide meaningful information to CltBP team members, Board members, funders, and partners.

Job Responsibilities

Essential Duties
  • Monitors and manages collection and entry of student and family data
  • Uses and enhances pre-programmed Excel workbooks to summarize student data trends
  • Summarizes student data and communicates findings/trends with Preschool team to inform programming and teaching practices
  • Summarizes family data and communicates findings/trends with Family Programs team to inform programming and approaches to supporting and engaging family members
  • Creates student data reports to share with teachers, coaches, team members, families, board members (KPIs), and the Advancement team
  • Develops data collection tools and administers research processes to answer questions related to strategic planning and programming
  • Manages collaborative research efforts with community partners related to CltBP’s mission
  • Drafts sections and assists in formatting of the CltBP Core Programs Evaluation Report
  • Supports preparation of other reports evaluating CltBP’s programs
  • Reviews literature regarding best practices related to early childhood education, dual language instruction, and a multi-generational approach
  • Prepares and presents CltBP research and evaluation results through conferences, reports,and manuscripts
  • Coordinates data collection at expansion site(s)
  • Collects and manages data regarding program implementation
  • Designs and implements focus groups with families and team members and analyzes responses
  • Supports development of logic models and evaluation plans
Required Qualifications & Competencies
  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher in education, psychology, public health, or a related field, with experience conducting applied community-based research and evaluation
  • Demonstrated values and skills in equity-focused evaluation design and implementation
  • Strong skills in quantitative and qualitative research design, data management, data analysis
  • Excellent ability to summarize data in a clear and coherent way to maximize utility of data through written reports and presentations
  • Strong ability to collaborate and communicate with team members and direct-service providers and maintain confidentiality of sensitive information
  • Capacity to manage research projects to ensure timely collection of data, effective management of data, and timely reporting of results
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze information and to solve problems, think and plan strategically
  • Demonstrated professionalism and good judgement
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and SharePoint/Teams
  • Bilingual -Spanish/English with proficiency speaking, reading,and writing in both languages strongly preferred
  • Demonstrated cultural competency and sensitivity
  • Passionate about early childhood education, economic mobility, and immigrant communities

This is an exempt position and can be full-time (40 hours) or part-time (20 hours). Expected start date will be between July 1 and September 1, pending our Advisory Board’s approval of the position. Salary Range: $40-48K full-time ($22-30K part-time) commensurate on experience.
