Reporting to the Chief Advancement Officer, the Marketing and Communications Officer designs and implements an annual comprehensive marketing and communications plan that encourages donations; builds public recognition of CltBP’s programs and outcomes; engages families and supporters in CltBP’s work; and cultivates relationships that advance CltBP’s mission.

Job Responsibilities

Essential Duties
  • Supports the organization’s mission and strategic growth by designing and executing an annual comprehensive marketing and communications plan that reflects deep understanding of CltBP’s community and values
  • Builds awareness and engagement with CltBP’s comunidad by using email to broadcast CltBP news and seek feedback on important issues
  • Increases CltBP’s visibility and position as an education leader by writing and distributing press releases, building relationships with media outlets and journalists, and leveraging endorsements
  • With the CltBP Leadership Team, develops consistent internal and external messaging aligned with CltBP’s brand, mission, and values
  • Uses the CltBP dual language website as a communications hub, creating and managing high-value content and designing two-way communication activities that build meaningful relationships with website visitors
  • Designs high-quality bilingual print and digital materials that promote CltBP student achievement, enrollment opportunities, community events, family resources, fundraising events, and more
  • Grows engagement on social media to increase followers’ affinity with the organization
  • Captures and edits high-quality photographs, including candid and staged images, for print, web, email, and social media use
  • Analyzes and reports on data that enables the Advancement Team and CltBP Leadership to understand which marketing and communications tools are working most effectively
  • Prepares CltBP team members, select family members, and Board members to interact authentically and constructively with the media
Required Qualifications & Competencies
  • Bilingual – Spanish/English with high-level writing, speaking, and proofreading skills in both languages; must be able to accurately and effectively translate materials across the enterprise;
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 5-8 years’ professional experience in marketing, communications, and/or public relations
  • Proficient with graphic design software, such as Adobe Creative Suite
  • Proficient with WordPress, HTML, CSS, and SEO leading practices
  • Very knowledgeable about current communications platforms and tools, including digital media and social media
  • Demonstrates effective organizational and time-management skills
  • Demonstrates cultural competency and sensitivity
  • Passionate about early childhood education, economic mobility, and immigrant communities
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office including experience using Excel to analyze data
  • Experience with Bloomerang or other donor CRMs is a plus
